We have worked with Jim Hamilton – acclaimed interior and furniture designer and Creative Director at Graven Images – on many projects over the years.  It is always an enjoyable experience contributing to the delivery of his eclectic designs.

We’re currently working together on the highly anticipated Dundonald Links clubhouse, and in true Jim style the attention to detail and thought behind the interior design for the project is evident before you even enter the building.

Last week our team took a key step in bringing the client and design teams’ vision to life with the placement of this impressive 2m diameter intertwined Corten steel golf ball sculpture.  A fitting welcome to what will be an exquisite clubhouse!

In keeping with the focus on sustainability at Dundonald Links, the steel not only makes for a beautiful statement feature; but also contributes to sustainability goals at the same time.

The sculpture was created and manufactured by Simon Hopkins at Sculpture & Design.  Corten ball is a representation of the older golf balls where the cores consisted of woven elastic bands.  The tall grass perimeter that will be added will give the eventual appearance from a distance of the ball floating on top of the rough.
