Le Petit Beefbar Opens in Edinburgh’s George Street
Attention all food enthusiasts and steak connoisseurs!
Thomas Johnstone Ltd (TJL) are delighted to have been the Main Contractor responsible for the recent refurbishment of the InterContinental Edinburgh The George Hotel’s new restaurant: Le Petit Beefbar.
The opening of this new dining destination marks another significant milestone for both Thomas Johnstone Ltd and The George Hotel: it signifies the completion of the latest of numerous refurbishment projects the Glasgow-based Specialist Fit-out Contractor has completed within the hotel. Previous projects include the refurbishment of guest rooms and the previous dining venue: The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen.
The Main Restaurant, housed in the hotel’s grand dining room, Casual Dining and Member’s Area have all been completely reimagined: the bar in the new member’s area was shortened and moved to allow for more seating. TJL’s site team installed new wooden flooring to replace the previous vinyl floor covering and stained it to match the existing flooring. In the Casual Dining space, new jewel-toned furniture in yellow tourmaline and topaz pop against the dark emerald walls. The art deco design is carried out throughout the venue with burnt orange arched fabric adorning the chairs in the Main Restaurant.
TJL created several of the venue’s furniture items in their 30,000 sq. ft. Manufacturing facility – based within the new Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District for Scotland (AMIDS). This includes bespoke maître d’ stations, booth seating, waiter stations, bars and high tables. TJL’s team also refurbished the existing bar; installing a new wooden surround, stone top and tambour base panelling.
Le Petit Beefbar opened its doors to the public on July 10, 2023. Guests are invited to experience the exceptional culinary journey that awaits them in the heart of Edinburgh.
